Folk Rock Band

This song “Requiem” is composed by a Mongolian Folk Rock Band called Altan Urag. With this touching songs, they are getting more and more international recognition. Some of their other songs are featured in a great Mongolian film called Mongol.

The dialogue between a grandfather and his grand child at the beginning is the most “heart-catching” and instantly set a dim mood for the song that happens to be a perfect fit, see English translation of the conversion below:

Grandson: “Grandpa, can i tell you a folktale?”
Grandpa: “Sure, what? kind of folktale?”
Grandson: “the one that doesn’t end happy”
Grandpa: “son, i have already living the nightmare when i am not sleeping”

I would recommend anyone who is interested in Mongolian folk music to also check out their other hits such as Singing Wind, Mother Mongolia and Blue Spot etc. This folk rock band is really looking compromising and I would definitely keep you update on their upcoming album and music video. Stay Tuned.
